Social Situations Luncheon Event

Hello, hello, lovelies!

This past Monday was extra amazing! My camera tagged along to capture these moments & a few behind the scene photos of this wonderful Event Planners Luncheon, hosted by Clara Zepeda-Loera of Social Situations, located in Harlingen,Texas.

If I've ever worked with you to help capture moments on my camera or Bridal Makeup on your special day, then you know exactly who I am talking about. I call Clara, my Fairy Godmother, of Wedding Planners! Seriously, if you are engaged, you need to hire her. I can not say enough wonderful things about her work ethic in her profession!

Clara hosted this wonderful & very planned/detailed luncheon for RGV Vendors she works with on Weddings & special events to meet new & upcoming Event/Wedding Planners all over the RGV. How incredible is that? That is one thing I admire about Clara & her work ethic.

'There is enough work for everyone!"

Not many people can be confident enough to say that, and I fully believe that. To me, competition should never be an issue. You can always learn so much from other people in the same field as you. If anything, I love to meet individuals who share the same passion as I do. Networking & putting your ideas together is something I love to do, as well as Clara. The world is in your hands if you stay open minded!

Social Situations is a welcoming place where all your Dream Wedding inspirations can come true! From Photographers, Makeup Artists (hey, thats me!), Florists, Videographers, Photo Booths, Decorations, Catering - the list can literally go on...

Here are a few of us! Let me tell you, it was such an honor to be in a room full of inspiration, hard workers, and witness first hand how passion turns into business!

There is so much work that goes on behind a lens. You see the aftermath of a beautiful bride walking down the aisle with picture perfect makeup, and every detail from the flowers and coordination all put together. The lighting is just perfect, the cake is positioned just as it would be in a movie, the flower girls know exactly what to do, the champagne is ready to go in their glasses for the toast, dinner is warm as it is served to you, and the exit of the bride & groom is perfectly played out - all of that is because of Wedding Vendors & Event Planners, just as those pictured above. Our passion pushes us & allows us to make magic happen in our very own way & with our very own style!

It was so wonderful to meet new Event Planners & Vendors. Networking can open up so many doors, and the relationship you can build with fellow hard workers brings your inspiration to a whole different world.

Coming together to meet one another, or for some to catch up, was so great! Clara had such a beautiful set up waiting for us, along with some very yummy food from 'My Cozy Tea Room Nook' by Michelle Barerra - Zepeda. You'll see her detailed work in the photos down below where the food & drinks were set up. Her set up was soo cute!

What a fantastic turn out that was! I can not thank Clara enough for putting this together and including me in this wonderful event! I left there feeling so inspired & so determined to keep working hard because when opportunities like these come up..they make you stop and think "Wow, did that just happen?!"

Just imagine the other opportunities that are just waiting to happen~ I know there are great things out there for everyone, you just have to keep doing what you're doing, and work hard...because you never know who you are inspiring & you never know what will happen!

Until next time, thank you for reading!

Kylie Cosmetics Makeup Look + Review

Hello hello, readers from all over the world! Wow, I haven't been on this sweet blog of mine since ATX! A lot of HUGE changes have happened! If you follow me on my other social media sites, you know what I'm talking about...if you don't..well I have some life changing news.

I'm PREGNANT! *cries out of happiness* That's right, a little Asian baby BOY is growing healthy inside of me! Omgosssssh, it's been one smooth pregnancy journey, Thank God! I'd loveee to start posting more 'baby related' posts, if you all don't mind ;)

I'll leave the rest of baby talk to a dedicated post soon! I already know what I'll be writing about, so stay tuned for that!

Today, we're talking about Kylie Cosmetics. Now, before you hit X at the top, because I'm sure you're over hearing about this - this is my first time trying out her eyeshadows & I'm pretty excited to blog about them! So, if you're interested..keep on reading, girlfriend!

The Royal Peach Palette Makeup Look & Details

Transition Shade: Sandy

Outer eyelid: A mixture of Sorbet + Seashell

Eyelid: Duchess *such a pretty color!*

Waterline & lower eye lid: Royal

Blended all colors with: A little bit of Peachy

Review
My first thoughts as I opened the package: "Good job, Kylie."
I was impressed with the quality of the packaging. It doesn't seem cheaply made & is a very good size for an eyeshadow palette. I think it's great that it came with an eyeshadow brush as well, that's helpful for anyone wanting to try out a new palette but may not have a brush to work with. Also, considering a high end makeup brush can range from $20-$50 that's a nice addition! The mirror on this palette is SUPER clear & is a pretty big size.

Smell: Yes, I like to smell my cosmetics. lol. Even more so, I've read countless reviews over the 'terrible chemical smell.' I'm not going to lie, is does have a not so pretty scent. I wouldn't use the word terrible, but definitely has an off smell. Nothing that gave me a headache at all. To be honest, wearing it all day - I never even noticed it once.

Pigmentation & blendability: When I first swatched these shadows, like I'm sure all makeup lovers all tend to do, I thought "pretty good." Not as high pigmented as I thought they would be, but the way they worked on my eyes were a different story. Once I primed my eyes, the color pay off was very good. They blended beautifully! Which is always a plus for the eyes! I had zero fall out as well - yay! I was SUPER impressed with how long they lasted on my eyes, with no creasing too. I started this makeup look around 3pm & by 9pm - they were still going strong! Yaaaay! These colors also photographed pretty well! I'm pretty picky about which palettes I use on my clients, I have to personally test them out on myself a couple of times. If a client of mine wanted a peachy look, I'd feel confident using this palette! :)

Cost: $45
Do I think this palette is worth $45? For the color pay off, the large mirror, the eyeshadow brush, and quality of the packaging. Most definitely. I'll be purchasing more of her Kyshadows! I would assume, after all the reviews over the "chemical smell" they'll improve that part in the future. So we'll see, but so far, I'm enjoying this palette! I'm excited to play around with more makeup looks!

Hello, from Austin! Weekend outfits of the day!

Hello, from my home office!

This past weekend I was in the beautiful Austin, Texas~

For what you may ask?
My BFF Debbie & I decided to surprise the crap out of our other BFF, Vannia! It was a very successful surprise that came with balloons, music, and her favorite coffee from Starbucks! She cried  happiness & we had our very fun girls weekend - talk about mission accomplished!

Just look @ her face : pure joy!
I love planning outfits around trips!
Things I ask myself as I pack:
Will I need comfy shoes and yoga pants?
Sandales and dresses?
Boots and scarves?
Layers of sweaters?
Hats & big sunglasses?
Swimsuits & coverups?

When I was thinking of Austin for Fall I thought:
booties, floral dresses, hats, a blazer, and lots of fun jewelry to accessorize ~

Side note: Is it not a wonderful feeling to have the support of your loved ones for your blog?!

My husband is usually my photographer for all my outfit posts ::sigh:: (:
This past weekend, I casually, out of no where, asked Debbie if she would help me take some "outfit photos for my blog!" without ANY hesitation 'LET'S DO IT FRIEND!" & that is why I love her! I love that I can share my excitement with my friends. So, I owe these photos to her!

The look: Extra comfy floral dress that is light weight and easy to move around in! I actually added the belt from another dress since this dress was a bit over sized and needed a little something around the waist line! I paired this dress with a hat & gray booties! I ended up wearing dark green earrings for a pop of color~

The blazer.

I've worn this blazer in so many different ways! Skinny jeans, high waisted jeans, jean skirt, and boyfriend jeans! That day, since it was in the high 80's I decided to pair it with some khaki shorts! I didn't feel like wearing my hair up, so the hat made its appearance again!

Keep Austin Weird.

"Let's go buy matching shirts!" Why not, right? Yes, we are those friends that aren't afraid to wear something funky/matching/weird. When you're in ATX for a girls weekend why not have some fun with it, am I right?!

The cut off shoulder.
Cut off shoulders will always be fun for me, I feel like they can instantly dress up your wardrobe!

I hope you all enjoyed this outfit post ! I've been getting great feedback on all my posts, so thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my blog - means more to me than you think!

Have a productive week ~ Until next post !

The TOP 3 Areas You May Be Forgetting To Moisturize

Hello hello, lovelies!
I'm sitting here with some hot green tea, a messy top bun, glasses, and some inspiration for today's blog post! Every post comes from that spark of inspiration for me. I never force myself to blog, I let that kick come in and that's when the excitement takes over the keyboard! I hope you're ready to learn just a little bit about skin care! Let's get started, shall we?!

P.S. How is it October already!? Cliche as it sounds, the months are running past us!

The top 3 areas you may be forgetting to moisturize & care for!

It comes natural to us & we hear it all the time "Take care of your skin!" "Don't forget to use your sunscreen!" That's important & deep down we all know it is - but how many of us actually take the time to do so? Naturally, we tend to care for our face more. Makeup wipes, masks, eye cream, face wash, the list can go on & on, but did you know the top of your hands, your neck, and your décolletage are just as important to care for?

Did you also know that your décolletage is one of the FIRST places to show signs of aging?!

*image found on google.com*

Your Décolletage
Our chest area is very thin & easily forgotten with sunscreen, so damage can and has been getting done to that area! Whether you're wearing a v-neck, tank top, or sundress, that area is getting exposed more than you realize. It's best to treat your chest area as you would your face. Even on dull cloudy days, your skin is still being exposed to UV rays. Those few extra minutes will help out in the long run. We can't avoid getting wrinkles or show signs of aging. We are all going to be there one day, but why not age gracefully knowing you took the best care of your skin! :)

The back of your hands.

*image found on google.com*

I've been in the habit of applying sunscreen to the back of my hands Every. Single. Day. Yes, I'm not exaggerating one bit girlfriend! Our hands are quick to show signs of aging as well - sun damage is our enemy! Do you know how much sun exposure our hands get just with driving? TONS!
The sooner you start getting into a routine, the sooner you're on your way to taking better care of your skin..It will come natural to you. Like a lot of things you don't want to forget about doing in the mornings, keep a sunscreen moisturizer on your bathroom counter. It will only take a few seconds to add some on your hands and moisturize away!

Your neck

*image found on google.com*

While many women are concerned about wrinkles & age spots on their faces, a lot of the time our neck gets neglected. I'm sure you've heard "don't forget to bring down your moisturizer to your neck, as well!" Most skin care routines tend to end on our chin area, while avoiding the delicate area on our neck & chest. The skin on our neck & décolletage are very fragile compared to our faces, and fragile skin is more likely to get damaged & show more signs of aging. Lines on our neck area are a given, we all have them, including me! Just because we have them already, doesn't necessarily mean we should stop taking care of that area!

Don't be alarmed if you haven't been caring for these 3 areas I talked about. Now is better than never to start putting in that extra time to care for your skin, and by extra time, I don't mean 45 mins. All it takes is a few minutes a day to apply your sunscreen moisturizer, you deserve to take care of that skin of yours!

I hope you beauties enjoyed this post, I'll see you in my next one~
