Back to School : Beauty must haves!

So, I know it's BACK TO SCHOOL for a lot of you girls, and like I promised - it's time for a back to school guide on some beauty must haves you should always keep in handy. 

Whether you are in middle school, high school, or in college these little must haves will work perfectly just for you. 

Let's get started :)

Makeup Bag. 

It's always good to keep a small makeup bag in your purse, backpack, or tote bag. You never want your makeup bag to be too big - you want it small enough where you can get it from your back, grab the product you want, and put it back. When you have a larger bag - you'll be digging around. 

You can find tons of really cute and very affordable makeup bags at Target, TjMaxx, and Marshalls. 

Matte Powder.

Through out the day (if you have oily skin) touching up is a routine for you, and keeping a matte powder in your bag will always come in handy to prevent touching up so much through out the day. Try using a makeup brush when applying your powder, sometimes using the powder applicator can leave your powder looking really thick. 

Mini Mascara.

This is optional, BUT this can come in handy if you want to touch up your makeup after a gym class. (for my middle school and high school viewers) All those samples of mascara you have saved up can now save some space in your make up bag! 

Body Mist/ Body Spray.

You never want to be that girl that has bad body odor! LOL Sounds gross, but it's true. Perfume is a little too strong for school and these body mists have the perfect scent and are so light weight. These are perfect to use throughout the day for that little touch up to feel fresh! For a more affordable brand, Target has a great collection as well. 

Bobby pins & Hair ties.

These are always a MUST. No caption is needed, lol. You always need these some time through out the day OR your friends are asking if you have some! 

Oil Sheets.

I love these. These have been around for YEARS. And they really work, you see all the junk on the sheet within a few seconds. These are great if you don't wear too much makeup and you just want to control the oil on your skin. And these sheets only take a few seconds to dap around your face. These should always be in your bag regardless if you are in school or not, they are definitely a must have. 

Lip Balm.

EOS lip balm is heaven on your lips. I have them all, even Carven loves using them (don't tell him I told you) These are perfect for your day at school because you never want to wear lipstick for class, save the lipstick for a fun night out on the weekend with your girlfriends! :) Lip balms will leave your lips feeling moisturized all day long! These will be perfect for all my younger viewers to keep in your bag! 

Lip Stains.

If you want a little more on your lips than just lip balm try lip stains. These lip stains give the perfect little stain of color on your lips. Not too much, not too little, just enough to show a little color. You can find a huge variety of lip stains at any drug store - these in particular have tried out and like the stain it leaves on your lips. These won't look too heavy for your school day at all, it will be the perfect little pop of color. 

YES. You know exactly what this is girls.

Every girl - whether you're in school, college, at work, anywhere - you should always keep an emergency pad/tampon in your purse. You never want to have that awful feeling of starting your period somewhere where you have no protection. I keep one of these in my purse at all times of day. Trust me, you will feel on top of the world if you have an emergency somewhere and you know you have one of these hidden in your purse! 

Antibacterial for your hands.

I love these and I also love that they are always 5 for $5 at Bath and Body Works. 

If you are a clean freak like myself, these will be a perfect fit for your makeup bag! There are germs all over on everything we put our hands on so these little babies are always so important to use! 

Mini Brush.

You can find these everywhere in the travel section of stores. If you ever need a touch up throughout the day or after your gym class -  this will be your best friend. These mini brushes fit perfectly in the palm of your hands! And small enough to fit in your makeup bag!

It's a beautiful feeling knowing you are passionate about something in life. Everyone has a passion for something - some of us are running towards our dreams and others are afraid of all the "what ifs" 

Life is far too short to be afraid to go after all of your dreams, it sounds cliche, but in the end - your life is in your hands, it is up to you to live the life you have always dreamt of. I truly love knowing I am in charge of my life - in charge of how far I really want to succeed. Every day I set goals for my days, not expectations. When you set goals is gives you the extra little push for your day - if you expect too much you might let yourself down if you don't get everything done.

Go after what you want in life, regardless of what others will think or say.

This is your life - make it worth while. 

You know what I love doing when I have a little alone time in my office room?

I write down everything in my life I have accomplished & has made me proud. Try it out, it really helps you stay on track and really allows you to see what you have done for yourself. 

Nothing feels better than feeling accomplished.

& I know this is just the beginning :)

My week in photos!

How is everyones week going by so far? I know it's back to school for a lot of you - whether its middle school, high school, or college - I wish all you the best of luck! 

I'll be writing a few "back to school" posts for you guys soon!

Quotes.

I live by quotes, I have them all over the house. They instantly brighten up my day, I love reading a quote and thinking "that is so true!" I save some of my favorites and print them out to put in my office room. I have always been a huge fan of quotes, since I was in middle school! I love this quote, staying humble is so important. The world has tons of beauty and only some people truly notice it. There is also something to always be thankful for, every single day, no matter what. I always try and keep that in mind and that keeps my positive mind set alive daily. 

Blushes. 

Anytime I'm on the phone with one of my friends or my sister - I start to organize my makeup collection. I took this photo a couple of days ago of a few of my blushes, notice I wrote a FEW, yes I have tons more! lol. Blushes make such a big difference in your makeup routine, they make you look more awake and polished!

NYX.

Our target finally carries NYX products! So, you know I had to make my way over there to pick up a few goodies! This is my NYX haul - I'll be posting a separate post with swatches on these new babies :) I have a few NYX products already and I love how pigmented they are. 

Night look.

I decided to spark up my eyes a bit with this new NYX Liquid Crystal Silk Liner in 104 aka: GOLD :) 

This was the first time trying this product out - I decided to place it on top of my black liner and I loved the way it looked. When you blink you are able to see just a glimpse of the glitter over your eyes. No eyeshadow was needed just a pop of color on your lips! It lasted all night and was really pigmented! 

Target Haul

I should really stop heading over to Target, right? Nah!

I love it TOO MJUCH. This was a mini Target haul from last week. I picked up a few lipglosses, the new Revlon Lash potion which I've been using this week - so good for lengthening! I have a photo wearing this mascara on my IG, some new vitamins, hair products, face products - you know, the typical Tasha haul!

Nails of the weel - Hello White!

 

Hello my beauties! 

It's finally "nail of the week" time!

This week at The Carriage House Day Spa we picked the perfect white for my Gel Manicure! I have always been a huge fan of WHITE, - so clean, simple, and classy! 

On my ring finger, we added just a glimpse of glitter, not too much, not too little :)

I must say, I am hooked on Gel Manicure! I should definitely give away my entire nail polish collection since Gel Manicure has taken over my heart - 14 days with no chipping and continuous shine? Yes, please!

What I love about white nail polish?

~ It goes with all your outfits.

~Looks so clean/fresh.

~It's the perfect summer shade.

~Easy to clean off if you get any foundation/makeup on your nails.

~So girly.

REVIEW: MiraCurl - AMAZING!

I'm BEYOND excited for todays blog post!

The newest hair tool is now being offered at The Carriage House Day Spa and Ella & myself got to test it out the other day - I am amazed by it :) 

I think it's very natural to become skeptical about a hair tool that comes out and tells you how easy it is to give you the waves you have always wanted - I know I'm guilty of it !

But this time, I got to try it out on myself! And I have the photos to prove it, let's get started!

Once Teri (Spa owner) mentioned to me how excited she was about this product  & how long it took for her to get it because it has been on back order - I was so interested! 

A little info on the MiraCurl:

~ The world's first fully automatic professional hair curler

~ Creates the perfect curl even for the straightest hair

~ Very lightweight tool

~You get to decide how tight or loose you want your curl

~ The MiraCurl actually sucks in your hair, you hold it till you hear the beep - let it go, and you have the perfect curl

~ You don't feel any heat OR pull to your hair at all (that was the first thing I noticed while they tested it out on me)

& now to put it to the test ! 

Here, Ella, is the 1st to put it to the test. We decided to test it on both of us since she has short/medium hair & I have long hair. We wanted to see the results on two different types of hairstyles! :)

You can already see the difference alone in the photo down below!

Once the MiraCurl sucks in your hair, it holds it for a few short seconds, once it beeps you slowly release the tool from your hair. I love how simple it is!

Ella tries it out for herself & puts it to the test. I couldn't believe how fast it took to do half of her hair. I think this product would do wonders for people who have really straight hair and feel they can't do anything with their hair.

Seriously, the perfect curl. 

These are actually considered the "tight" curls - you can always mess with the settings on the side to give you the more loose curls. Or you can do this at night, sleep on it, and once you wake up you will have more wavy curls.

This was my hair before....

 & during the process! We also did the 'tight' curls on me just so we were able to see how well the curl was coming out. I was so amazed by how simple it was while Connie did my hair and even more amazed at how light weight the tool is once you do it on yourself. It's probably the fastest hair curling tool I have ever tried on myself. 

& the after curls ! Wow, my hair looks extra short in this photo! lol. But I'm glad you are able to see how well the curl comes out ! Carven actually went with me to the Spa to help me record a video and he even said "Wow, that's really cool!" lol and for a guy to say that - that really tells you something!

I usually use the cone to put curls in my hair and this took half the time to do my hair!

Ella & I couldn't stop saying "Wow!" It was fun experimenting with this tool! I definitely give it a thumbs up! By these photos alone you can see the major results! 

Now you know what to ask for as your #1 presents for Christmas, lol.

How's everyones week going by? 

I've been one little busy bride to be! This wedding planning is going beautiful, I can't wait to write an entire blog post just on that! 

Now, let's talk about hair.

Recently, the amazing Spa I work with colored my hair & chopped off 3 inches - 3 inches to me seems like so much but it was definitely time to trim off the dead ends!

I'm in LOVE with the shade they picked for me, Connie, the famous hair dresser has been doing hair for years and I trust her with all my heart to work on my hair. She is that hairdresser that won't just give you anything you want - she will always give you her opinion and if she thinks your hair isn't healthy enough to hold that much color she will let you know. During past summer breaks I have always had highlights in my hair and this was the first summer I didn't go that direction! Instead, we decided to go with a solid gorgeous brown! You can actually see hints from my pervious highlights I had in my hair - when the sun hits my hair you can see it more and I really like it.

How long should you wait for your next hair cut/trim ?

Long hair - If your hair is long and you want to keep it long, it is very important to get regular haircuts in order to keep your long hair healthy looking. Long hair should be trimmed at least every 8 to 12 weeks. If you notice more breakage or split ends, it could be cut as frequently as every 6 to 8 weeks.

Medium hair - The same rules generally apply for medium length hair as they do for long hair. Regular haircuts at 6 to 12 week intervals are very important to keep your hair healthy in appearance.

Short Hair - especially if you want to keep your short style, will need a haircut more frequently in order to remain fresh. 

After getting rid of those 3 inches, my hair feels a lot more healthier! My split ends weren't pretty at all so it was time for those to go! My hair grows pretty fast since I take Biotin vitamins everyday! If you don't take Biotin, I highly recommend it - it's great for hair growth & your nails! 

Also, always try to use a hair product in your hair every night, there's million out there and one of my favorites is 'It's a 10' if you follow me on InstaGram and FB you have seen me rave about that product a million times! lol.

So, a few days later..this little baby was in my mailbox!

This is how the product looks once you receive yours in the mail. Very light weight and smells so relaxing. The scent of this product reminds of The Bath & Body Works "sleep" spray - very soothing! 

Here it shows you all the places on your body you are able to use it on!

You can only use this applicator one time - & if you would like to use it on your legs all you have to do is cut the wrap down the middle! 

Pretty simple huh?

Now for the most important part ....

What supplies will you need to start this process?

& don't worry all these things you will probably have around the house..

-measuring tape

-sharpie

-clear wrap

-scissors

-music (I had music playing during this whole process so the time wouldn't feel like it was going by so slow :) )

-LOTS OF WATER 

Once you open up your applicator you will instantly smell the soothing scent, don't worry it's not strong at all :)

Also, another thing - have someone help you 'wrap' you up. I had the fiance help me out on that part. 

What should you wear?

Well, to be honest I just had my bra on and walked all over the house with just the wrap on and my bra..You can put a shirt over it if you would like but if you are in the comfort of your home might as well be extra comfy since the wrap goes on pretty tight.

What should you do before you apply the applicator?

-Measure yourself! You are supposed to measure 6 inches above your belly button, right on your belly button, and then 6 inches below. While measuring take your sharpie marker and mark on both sides where the measuring tape is that way you will know exactly where to put your measuring tape once you are ready to measure the 'after' part ! 

Once you open the applicator and figure out what part of your body you would like to use it on slowly place it on your body ( it will be pretty cold ! ) and once you have the wrap on...grab the clear wrap and start wrapping up! I chose to do my stomach. So I stood there with my hands up in the air and Carven was slowly wrapping me up pretty tight.

And then once you are all wrapped up - start drinking your water! 

It's really important to drink as much water as you can during this process since you are wrapped pretty tight you don't want to start feeling light headed. Drinking lots of water will help you release all the toxins your stomach as while your wrap is on. You'll leave the wrap on for 45 mins, or longer if you'd like, BUT 45 mins was more than enough for me since we wrapped it pretty tight lol. 

While my wrap was on I was just organizing things around the house while drinking my water and the time went by really fast.

Once it was time to take it off (I was so excited)  it was time to take it off !

I got my measuring tape and found the sharpie marks on my body and started measuring again, in total I lost 6 inches :) I was very impressed! You honestly DO see a difference not only in inches but the way your stomach feels - it instantly felt more tight. Even before bed I was just touching my stomach thinking "okay, how did that really work!?!?" lol. All in all, I loved it. It made me a believer!
